The 7kg Calor butane gas bottle is a good all-rounder for summer caravanning and portable indoor heaters. Standing about 50cm tall and 26cm across, it holds more than the smaller 4.5kg cylinder while staying easy to lift, store and connect.
This size is widely used with portable gas heaters running a 21mm clip-on butane regulator, and with caravans that see regular spring and summer use. Butane suits indoor and milder-weather use, so it’s a sensible choice when you’re not chasing gas for cold outdoor work. For that, propane is the better option.
It’s supplied as a refill on a like-for-like exchange, so you’ll need an empty 7kg Calor cylinder to swap, or you can add a Calor cylinder deposit if you’re starting out.
