Eco Firelighters

These eco firelighters are a clean, simple way to get a fire going, whether that’s an open fire, a wood burner, a BBQ or a chiminea. Each one is made from wood wool strands, bound together with paraffin and candle wax. The wax does two jobs: it makes the lighter catch and burn more strongly, and it helps it last longer once lit.

Using them couldn’t be much simpler. You light one of the wood wool strands and it burns for roughly 5 to 10 minutes, giving the kindling, coal or charcoal above it time to catch properly. That longer burn is the difference between a fire that takes first time and one you end up relighting.

Because they work both indoors and outdoors, the same box covers your hearth and your barbecue. They come in various box sizes, so you can pick up a small box to try or buy a larger one to keep topped up through the season.
