Hobbyweld Argon (Original)

From: £87.50

The Hobbyweld Argon Original cylinder is pure argon for TIG welding, filled to a minimum purity of 99.995% so you get clean, steady results. It handles stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, which covers a wide spread of real jobs: alloy wheel repairs, farm equipment, vehicle body panels and finer model work. Run it on a MIG welder with the correct wire and consumables and it does aluminium there too.

This is the Original size, 9 litres water capacity filled to 137 bar. It’s a manageable cylinder for hobby and occasional welding, the right pick if you don’t get through a lot of gas. If you weld regularly or want longer between swaps, the Ultra cylinder holds more and has a built-in contents gauge.

The Hobbyweld Argon Original cylinder is 100% argon, the standard shielding gas for TIG welding. It’s filled to a minimum purity of 99.995%, which matters more than it sounds. Clean gas gives a clean weld, with a steadier arc and less contamination, so the finish is better and the work is easier.

It suits TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. That spans a lot of practical work, from repairing alloy wheels and vehicle body panels to farming equipment and fine model making. If you run a MIG welder instead, the same argon covers aluminium and alloys, as long as you pair it with the correct MIG wire and consumables.

This is the Original size: 9 litres water capacity, filled to 137 bar. It’s the manageable everyday cylinder, well suited to hobbyists and occasional users who don’t get through gas quickly. If you weld often or want to go longer between swaps, the Ultra cylinder holds 20 litres at 300 bar and has a built-in contents gauge so you can see what’s left.
