Hobbyweld Acetylene (Ultra) is the high-capacity acetylene cylinder, made for the professional or heavier user. It holds much more gas than the Original, with a water capacity of around 15.9 litres and a gas capacity of about 2.55 cubic metres, and it has a built-in contents gauge so you can keep track of what’s left.
Acetylene is the hottest, most efficient fuel gas on the market, and the only fuel gas hot enough to weld steel. Used with oxygen in an oxy-acetylene set, it handles cutting, welding, brazing and soldering.

It holds a great deal more gas than the Original, with a water capacity of around 15.9 litres and a gas capacity of about 2.55 cubic metres, and the built-in contents gauge takes the guesswork out of knowing when it’s running low.
The gas itself is the same. Acetylene is the hottest and most efficient fuel gas on the market, and the only fuel gas hot enough to weld steel. Used with oxygen in an oxy-acetylene set, it covers cutting, welding, brazing and soldering, which is why it’s the standard fuel gas for most oxy-fuel work. As with the smaller cylinder, you’ll get through more oxygen than acetylene, so pair it with an appropriate oxygen bottle.
