This Harringtons drinks dispensing cylinder holds a 70/30 mix, 70% nitrogen to 30% CO2, blended for dispensing ales, stouts and similar drinks. It’s a 10-litre bottle, pitched at home brewers and low-usage customers rather than high-turnover bars, so it fits anyone running a modest setup at home.

The mix is what makes it right for these drinks. Ales and stouts don’t want the heavy carbonation that suits a lager, so the lower CO2 proportion keeps them from over-fizzing, while the higher nitrogen content gives that smooth, creamy head and pour.
